Lake Huron
Lake Huron with its 30,000 Islands has the most diversity of fishing of all of the Great Lakes. Shallow in the north with warmer water for excellent Northern Pike, Walleye, and Muskie fishing. Saginaw Bay has shallow warm water and is world renowned for Walleye. the middle of the lake holds colder water and thus the Chinook Salmon, Lakers, Steelhead, and Brown Trout are found here. In the north where Lake Huron and Lake Michigan are joined at the Straits of Mackinac is an excellent Salmon fishery. Atlantic Salmon have a May thru June run up the Saint Mary's River to spawn in the Rapids at Sault Ste. Marie. Many resorts are found in the Georgian Bay area.
